They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone.
No matter where you are, all alone or enjoying the fellowship of a handful of believers, you are always a part of a larger group of people. It’s a far-flung group of “God’s family” united by a common faith in the Lord Jesus.
As Christians, we enjoy a special blessing of knowing that we are united with the members of our local congregations and with all the other members of the Christian Church because of our common faith in Jesus as our Savior. Around the world, these brothers and sisters in Christ are faithfully striving to proclaim the saving gospel and to remain faithful to the truth of God’s Word.
If you are separated from your family by distance, you often think about them and pray for their physical and spiritual welfare. It should be no different with our spiritual family. Think about them often. Pray for them daily. God has given us to each other to carry each other’s burdens. We are never alone.
Dear God, help me love and encourage the Christians I get to be with. As you show me their needs, lead me to respond with gospel-based generosity and with prayer. Amen.
